Soccer Days and Summer Nights

National Games is a great time of year for everyone involved. When you’re not on the soccer fields, taking part in the competitive games, there will be plenty of activities to keep you entertained.

This year, AYSO is excited to announce Summer Nights, two youth events that will take place on the same night in two different locations, giving families in Torrance and Riverside a nearby venue to enjoy.

Summer Nights Torrance

When: July 2, 2014

Where: Seaside Lagoon (Redondo Beach’s King Harbor, southwest corner of Harbor Drive and Portofino Way)

Time: 5:30 p.m.

This event is open to all National Games participants and is located in the heart of Redondo Beach’s King Harbor. Seaside Lagoon is a blast – kids will love swimming at sunset in the large saltwater lagoon from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., while parents can lounge on a large sandy beach area. When not in the lagoon swimming with friends, your son/daughter can have fun on the Lagoon playground equipment or grab something to eat at the snack bar. Lifeguards will be on duty during the sunset swim.

Every child that attends will receive a free hamburger or hot dog, chips and a drink. Learn more about Seaside Lagoon here.

The sunset swim will be followed by a cozy cup of hot chocolate and  the movie “Believe” will be shown on the sand from 7:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Don’t forget to bring warm clothes, blankets and towels – it will likely be about 60 degrees during the movie.

Parking is $4. If parents or siblings would like to attend this event, they can purchase tickets for $15 each at the Torrance Team Check-in.

Summer Nights Riverside

When: July 2, 2014

Where: Castle Park (3500 Polk Street, Riverside, CA 92505)

Time: 5:30 p.m.

Castle Park will host the youth event in Riverside and promises an evening of fun that will tap into your kid’s adventurous side. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. Admission to the park includes unlimited rides. Height requirements for the rides start at 36 inches, but whether your kid hits that mark or not, there are plenty of fun things to do at Castle Park, including carnival games and a video arcade. Learn more about Castle Park here.

The Summer Nights Riverside event also includes a free combo meal and drink for each child.

If parents or siblings would like to attend this event, they can purchase tickets for $15 each at the Riverside Team Check-in.
